The Sacraments of Initation
Baptism
On average we celebrate over 40 baptisms a year.
Our baptisms take place either at the 10.30am Sunday morning Mass or at 12.00 noon.
If you wish to have your child baptised, you need to ask for a baptism form at any of our Sunday Masses.
Once the date has been set, one of our Catechists for Baptism will visit you in your home to go through the meaning of Christian Baptism and the responsibilities involved.
First Holy Communion & First Confession
Our First Holy Communion programme is a joint venture between family, parish and school.
For children in St Mary's School, they will receive instruction in school and there are three parish catechist days.
Children who are not in the Catholic school are given extra assistance with separate classes after the 10.30am Mass and are also expected to attend the parish days.
Parents and children are expected to attend Mass each Sunday with their children.
Confirmation
Registration for Confirmation can be done through collecting a registration form from the priest or deacon at Sunday Mass.
A series of talks for our children are given explaining the Sacrament of Confirmation allowing the children to explore further this next important step in their Journey of Faith.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation, often called Confession, is a sacred encounter with God's mercy. Through confessing our sins to a priest, expressing true sorrow, and a firm purpose of amendment, we receive forgiveness and are reconciled with God and the Church.
Confession allows us to experience the healing power of Christ's love and grace, renewing our relationship with Him and the community of faith.
